Ruby Throated Hummingbirds Video

I thought I might try something different (Leecy gave me the idea).  I recorded a short video (just a hair over 1 minute) of the Ruby Throated Hummingbirds in our backyard.

For the majority of the video, you see them sipping sugar water from 2 of the feeders.  At the end of the video, you’ll see a Hummingbird getting nectar from the Firecracker Bush.

Wow, L, what insanely great pics! I’ve always joked that I didn’t know hummingbirds had feet, because you see them so rarely. Great job! So, this is an Ike thing, the whole bombarding? I’ve gotten feeders in the past, with little luck, would I be able to get some action out here in Katy now?

It’s easy Ctal, even out there where you life. All you need are some hummingbird feeders. Get the kind with little feet on them so they can rest while they are drinking. They seem to be more attracted to red than yellow colors, but either will work. It’s better if you have some vegetation around so after they drink, they can go fly off and rest.
